Electroluminescent keypads

This keyboard comprises an electroluminescent lamp and a graphic overlay (also called decoration).

The lamp is composed of a phosphorescent substance (phosphorus) which is applied onto a dielectric layer sandwiched between two conductive layers. This ensemble is screen-printed onto a flexible polyester film. A low intensity electric current triggers the release of photons; the electrical energy is thus transformed into light.

With endless possibilities and as bright as it is practical, the electroluminescent keypad has a very unique look.
